I too thought it was fixed then then it happened about 40 minutes into the first episode of "the Pacific" I got "the Internet browser will be closed due to internal error" message again. Until this occurred I thought this was behind us. Hopeful it was a one time fluke but I suspect not.
I ran a movie last night. So far, so good. But I'm seeing others say the fix didn't last, so I reserve my final response until I see if this sticks. Thanks.
I'm sorry restarting did not solve the issue for you. While some customers do report using a Fire Stick to resolve the issue, it is not required.
There was a fix pushed out in the last few days by Sony that did resolve the "Internet Browser will be closed due to an internal error" error on Prime Video. I would recommend making sure your Sony TV is fully updated, as well as the Prime Video app if you have an update option.
If this issue continues, please reach out directly to Sony to ensure you received this update with the fix.
Wow after 2 months the buck passes to Sony. The problem continues and everything on my TV as been fully updated as is all my home network. Very disappointing.
Perhaps its time to look at Apple TV as an option for both content and a Smart TV alternative. The good news is I have a bunch of other apps that work just fine on the TV.
Sony 65XF9005 running Nougat version of Android. Prime won’t work. I see all the shows in a main screen etc but when I try to start watching, a rolling circle appears for a few seconds and then just a black screen. The app won’t close and I have to force shut down tv.

Hello Alex70, Welcome to Amazon Digital and Device Forum!
I'm sorry this is happening! Ensure the firmware on your Sony TV and the Prime Video app are fully updated.
Problems with your internet connection or low bandwidth can cause streaming issues unrelated to the Prime Video service. Restarting your device, Internet modem, and router can resolve many intermittent connectivity issues.
Are there many other devices connected to the same internet network you're using? Temporarily pause activities like file downloading, online gaming, and video streaming on other devices connected to your network. These activities can impact your connection speed and streaming quality.
If your connection speed is much slower than usual, we recommend contacting your ISP for additional help.
If the issue continues, try clearing application data for the Prime Video app, and then restart your device.
Thank you. I have a 100/100mbps cable so that is not the broblem. Download speedtest is around 90-92 and ping is minimal.
Sony tv have a latest working Android Nougath software, Oree is halted by Sony due to errors in it.
There arent any other devices using net while I use Prime Video app. I got it working twice, program starts, then freezees and shows a still picture. When you rewind to start again, the program starts as it should be.
seems like a app related problem. All other apps on my tv work 100% like Netfix with 4K.
edit: tried all things you suggested but no change.

Hello Alex70, I'm sorry the troubleshooting steps didn't solve the problem.
Please contact Amazon Support further assistance. I also suggest to reach out to Sony Support. Come back and share with the forum how they were able to help.
We've never had a problem with Amazon Prime on our Sony Bravia (well, except for slow buffering sometimes) UNTIL I subscribed to HBO through Prime, so that we could watch Game of Thrones, since negotiations between Dish and HBO are still not resolved. This morning, I couldn't even find Amazon Prime in my TV's list of apps (it's always just been there before); I "reset" the TV and now it shows up, but when I click to load it, it tries for several minutes to "refresh internet content," then throws up a message that says "Configuration failed whle acquiring internet content. 5008. Please try again later."
Sounds like a network problem, right? But I've checked my wifi settings, all is well; and we get Netflix and YouTube TV okay, so... I have no clue. I guess I'll try to call them. This is SO frustrating.

I am having a problem of amazon showing all my channels and content it's like the screen is blank. I can scroll through the content and it gives me the all the info but my apps are still blank. does that make sense. it will say what's there but won't show the picture.
I’m having this issue on a Sony PlayStation 4 when I try to stream certain content from Prime it says “internet connection error” and doesn’t allow it to play. The weird part is that it is very specific. I can watch all episodes of “New Amsterdam” except episode 21. It always comes up with this message.

Hello Alf J D, Welcome to Amazon Digital and Device Forum!
I'm sorry this is happening! Besides the error message, are you getting an error code?
Restart your device, Internet modem, and router which could resolve intermittent connectivity issues. Check to see if there are any firmware updates available for your device.
Iam facing this issue after upgrading to Oreo on Sony bravia KD43X8200E, other apps are working fine with internet, but amazon prime displays error, then after i logged in same wifi network on amazon prime website it resolved for me.
please add add me to the ever growing list of angry customers !! I bought my SONY Bravia tv ONE MONTH AGO!!!! It played prime video perfectly for a week, now I can’t even get it to open it just says my internet is not connected (it’s hard wired in AND everything else works perfectly) What exactly am I paying for ?? I don’t wish to cast it, get a dongle or use any other extra peripheral device, I want to do what it’s meant to do!! Whilst you’re at it maybe you could tell me why I keep getting emails saying my payment is invalid when it’s clearly being debited from my account each month ! Funny how the payments never have problems with connection eh ?! Fix it or refund my money!

Firestick or Roku is the only fix for this problem
Sony's solution was always way too simplistic to ever be a permanent solution.
