Having the same issue. No problem with other streaming apps - Netflix, YouTube, etc. Lots of great content, but Amazon needs to step up and fix the issue or tell us what the problem is to stay in the game
I'm having this same problem on my LG Smart TV 60UM69 webOS. It has the latest updates for everything. The audio and video get so far out of sync, and the video periodically freezes. It's so distracting I can't watch it. I have no issues with Netflix, and no issues watching Amazon on my laptop. It seems to be with the Amazon Prime app for the TV. Which I have already deleted and reinstalled.
Same problem (I call it hiccups) on Samsung Smart TV. Netflix is okay most of the time and if I stream a movie of show on my PC from Prime it works fine. Same internet hook up so it's not that. I do use a Yamaha sound bar that connects to the TV using a fiber optics cable. Perhaps the problem lies there or with the TV set itself.
Okay removed the soundbar and used just TV speakers and problem no long exists. It's a Yamaha sound bar and I've had it a number years. The remote has three buttons labled: CLEAR VOICE UNI-VOLUME AUDIO DELAY. Possbly I hit one of these and that cause the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Like I said without the sound bar both Prime and Netflix stream fine.
I thought that the sound skips had something to do with the TV audio settings and I found a solution:If you set the audio format of the optical connection to "Dolby" instead of "PCM" the skips stop - I believe the reason is, that the TV does not have to do transcoding (from Dolby to raw PCM) where it obviously lacks the CPU resources to so. I have a UE55H7090 (just for reference purposes). Give it a shot.
Same problem, but with Roku throughout the house. No problem with Netflix, Hulu, PlutoTV, only Prime Video. I’ll notice suddenly that the audio is out of sync, so I’ll rewind a bit, it will sync up, only to start skipping and go out again. It’s not a daily issue really, but when it does happen, it’s rather annoying, with some of the times basically unwatchable.
Found the problem, same as EWA25 mentionned. Change the audio setting of my Samsung. I kept the PCM, did not changed to Dolby. I only modified the "retarding" setup under PCM, from 30 to 0. I think thats what corrected it.
I also did a software update of the Samsung software... was 2014 !!
I am having the same sort of problems but it is on my asus laptop, not a tv. The sound seems to skip - it is really hard to watch anything because of it. So annoying. Netflix, youtube & Hulu all work just fine.
Same issue on my samsung tv, trying to watch The Boys and audio started off slightly out of sync and seemed to get slightly worse the longer I watch. No issues with Netflix, iplayer or anything else on the same tv using the same flawless 60mb connection. I have no soundbar either. I will be cancelling prime once my current subscription ends. Aside from the sound sync problems which have clearly been ongoing for a very long time, I don't appreciate paying for something and then having adverts shoved down my throat every time I try to watch something, nor do I appreciate having to try to sift out the stuff I can actually watch from the rent/buy stuff that is constantly pushed. You wanna compete with Netflix? Get it together, fast.
