The quality is terrible and it's slow. Do I need to update something? If so, what would that be?
You could try updates and "what would that be" depends how you are accessing Amazon Video. However, as Pirate indicated, it's veryq likely your internet connection
It could be the device you are using. For a while, the Amazon Video app on both my Vizio TV and my Samsung bluray player had poor quality. I didn't have the same issue when streaming Netflix, Hulu, or Vudu, but that may have just been minimum system requirements. I purchased a Fire Stick and have no problems streaming from that. Coincidentally, after purchasing the Fire Stick, I haven't had the quality issues on those devices that I did before using the Fire Stick, that very well may have been either OS updates on those devices, or updates of the Amazon Video app (or both).
