as far as I know, it's just on the Kindles. It doesn't exist on the Fires either and people have been asking for it on them for ages. As far as future plans, since this is a customer to customer Help forum, none of us customers are privy to Amazon's future plans. You can email and ask them at kindle-feedback@amazon.com but I doubt Customer Service would know the answer either.

Is there any way to search text and phrases across a Kindle library outside of actual Kindle e-ink devices?
Similar functionality on cloud reader or windows app would be helpful. Does it exist or are there plans for it?
