I received a textbook as a gift. I opened the email, but I need to send this textbook to someone else. Now I can't figure out how to send it. The "gift" button keeps asking for a credit card.
If you received an email with a gift code, if you redeemed that gift to your own account, it's stuck there and you cannot gift it to someone else. Why didn't the gift go to the recipient in the first place. If you received the gift email and the book was intended for someone else, you should have forwarded the email to that person's regular email.
The Gift button on a book's product page is for YOU to PURCHASE the book as a gift for someone, not to forward a gift you received to someone else.
If the book hasn't been redeemed to your own account, you should contact Amazon customer service to help walk you through the process of getting the book forwarded to the correct recipient. If you received a gift email and redeemed it to your own account, but the book was intended for someone else, Amazon MAY help you with a refund for you to properly gift it to the right person.
If you received the gift a while back and used the book for yourself, you cannot transfer or gift the book to anyone.
Amazon is at Help>>Need More Help>>Contact Us.
