This exact same problem is happening to me too. It happened about a month ago and I've been really frustrated trying to get it back. I like doing product research on amazon and it made it easier for me. Since it's disappeared I've been shopping on the app less.
It’s not the same as the drag-and-drop feature, but I found another sorta workaround. If you hit the “heart”/favorite icon it automatically saves the item to a default list, which you have the option to change in a little drop down menu.
Ugh. Me too! Why did they get rid of this useful feature?? I bought more when it was easy to drag & drop and compare. I guess it's better for my bank account now that those items aren't at the bottom of the screen staring at me 😂
I hate the new “hearts” thing. The main reason I used the drag and drop feature was because it was helpful and so much easier for me to add items that Amazon listed as similar, below the item’s description, without having to click on each one individually to save it to the appropriate list. Now, I have to click on each item, go to page for it, click the heart to save it, make sure the default list is correct, and then go back to the previous page hoping other items that caught my eye are still there under the “products related to this item” section. If I’m shopping on Amazon using my laptop, I can easily choose to open the product in another tab and return to it later on. However, I do a majority of my shopping on my phone, using the app, and obviously the app doesn’t have windows and tabs like Chrome does. It makes it a lot more difficult to look at other items and it’s so time consuming. I hate it.
Fire the programmer that talked you into this and let’s all move on. Drag and drop trays were far superior to one click default lists - almost rendering the app unusable.
We can't. We, the members of this customer to customer help forum can't fire anyone who works for Amazon. If y'all want it "fixed", you need to talk to Amazon. No one from Amazon's management, technical, development or customer service teams reads this forum. The only email I have is for email@example.com. Another way to get it fixed is to deluge Customer Service with your requests:
So is this feature just gone now?? Because that feature was INVALUABLE. So much so, that I stopped shopping online and started going back to physical stores! If I can’t comparison shop quickly via the list tray, I guess I have to do it the old-fashioned way—looking at items on shelves...it’s faster. Bummer 😒
So did amazon take away this feature? I miss it so much I'm combing forums to figure out how to get it back, but apparently i am not doing it, it's just gone. Burns me up! I need my drag and drop! :( planning a wedding and i really dont want to have to press the item then scroll down and press "add to list" when i could just *swish, added to list, ok moving on next item*. :(
Thought it was just my phone or app, but it definitely seems to be the latest update since I'm not alone in this. Not sure why Amazon support doesn't seem to know what's going on, but I want the tray back. It was so easy to save items so I hope this is resolved soon!
Me too, this has been driving me nuts; I thought I’d done something stupid to disable the bar but it looks like it’s a bug. I used to be able to drag things to my list but i no longer can on my iPhone XS.
Hi all. So if the problem for you is that your preferred wish list is no longer visible at all times at the bottom of your screen, I fixed it by adding an item to that list and it became visible again. And if you're problem is that you cant drag items into a list anymore, find an item then try picking it up by holding your finger on it and then try releasing the item where the wish list should be if you can still pick it up.
Sorry if this has already been tried or is redundant.
I use Amazon for Tablets. I can't follow any of the suggestions because my app seems to be different. There are no hearts on my pages, it doesn't let me "drag and drop", when I go to apps and "force stop" the three dots are not there. The app store won't let me download a different app (I guess because of the one I have) and I don't want to delete it first because I will lose all my lists. Any more ideas out there?
My wife just mentioned to me that it wasn't working, and I ran across this discussion while trying to find the solution. I for one am glad the tray is gone. If I failed to click an item as fast as I should, the tray would pop up. It was really annoying. In my opinion they could have a setting to enable or disable it so it worked for both of us, but it's a setting I won't miss.
