Ever since I updated my Firefox, whenever I try to access the Amazon Music web player at music.amazon.com, I get a message that says "Playback Disabled - Please enable playback settings for your browser." I've checked all of my settings in Firefox and can't find anything that's disabled.
I'm sorry you're having trouble playing Amazon Music on Firefox. First - are you using Firefox on a PC or Mac? I want to clarify that, because if you are using it on a mobile device, Amazon Music is not supported (we have an app for that!)
Otherwise - let's make sure Adobe Flash is installed and updated for Firefox by following the steps here: Flash Player Help
I'm using Firefox on a Linux PC. I do not have Flash Player, haven't used it in years. I have another Linux PC without flash and Amazon Music works just fine on it in Firefox, so I don't think that's the issue.
NOTE: I do NOT speak for or represent Amazon in any fashion. This is a customer to customer forum.

Amazon Music playback is not supported if you are using a Linux computer.
Customers using other operating systems (including Linux, Chrome OS, Windows versions older than Windows 7 and versions of OSX below 10.9) can download purchased music directly through their computer's web browser.
Ok, I wasn't expecting official support from Amazon. I thought this was a user forum, so I was reaching out to see if any other users had run into this message. It seems that the website is checking for some setting and asking me to change it, but I just don't know what setting it is. I'll keep trying to figure it out, and I'll post an update if I find it.
By the way, is there a way to be notified by email when someone replies to this thread? I had no idea that anybody replied until I came back several days later.
At this time, we do not have email notifications for the forum.
And this absolutely is a user forum - you are in the right place for the help you seek! I hope other Linux users step in for discussion. I've edited the title to reflect this, hoping to draw in more community members with a similar setup.
I found what it was - there's a DRM component in Firefox on my other Linux machines but not on this one, and Amazon Music needs that to be enabled. It would be nice if the error message would say that.
Anyhow, I will have to wait until Mozilla makes that available on my platform.
