I have found all kinds of 5.1 Music on Amazon and feel very lucky to find such a rich source of music. It is only that my computer has a high quality sound card that will play 5.1 and 7.1 through it but I cannot get it to play it .
I am currently listening to the album,
Jazz and the New SongBook
track 3 titled
Something to Believe in (Live, Mixed in 5.1 Surround).
Great Music but
I do not get any sound through rear speakers.
Every other program that I use or play on my computer plays just fine as a 5.1.
Is it possible to play music from amazon as a 5.1 or just a dream.
I was excited when I got the notification for Amazon Music HD. I thought for sure it would include surround sound. Silly me!
1. Has anyone figured out how to stream 5.1 surround?
2. Hey Amazon! I'll pay extra to be able to stream 5.1 surround!
1. You can't stream what is isn't there. You need to find a service that offers 5.1 sound.
2. You should contact Amazon directly to make suggestions. This is a customer to customer forum.
If you Google "5.1 surround music streaming", you will find much useful info. Amazon does not allow outside links in the forum and some of them are for commercial services which would be uncool to seem to shill for, so use your judgement.

well, apparently the mp3 music is not surround sound 5.1 nor 7.1 but send it to an av receiver with support and some DSP program will run and make sound on all of the speakers...hey i am a numbers guy, want to see 24bit/192Khz and hear all 5.1 speakers:)
