Please could you give us an eta on this fix please, which seems to be causing a lot of us problems and will no doubt be affecting customer loyalty. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask when the fix is expected...we can then stop posting derogatory comments and wait for the fix!
Amazon - please, please, please, sort this issue out the only time I use the app is when I’m in my car. As one of the largest companies in the world with huge revenues and vast numbers of staff surely someone at senior management level can take ownership of this most frustrating breakdown of the app. Please divert some of your resources into resolving what should be a fairly simple problem. If need be let’s go back to the previous version of the app which worked seamlessly.
If you you care about your loyal customers, please elevate this to a critical level and get a fix out.
I've also been having the issue for the last 2 updates where Amazon Music App on iOS is not working with my BMW Connected drive. Previously to this, I was having issues getting the application to register on my car, which was often fixed by:
1. Connecting Phone to USB
2. Open Amazon Music
3. Turn on Car (but not start engine)
4. Close Amazon Music on Phone
5. Turn off Car
6. Open Amazon Music
7. Turn on Car
Whilst this was a little frustrating, I still managed to get access to my music (eventually).
The last 2 updates just keep telling me, the device is disconnected. I've updated my car firmware to the latest version, tried different leads, but the same issue occurs.
My final test was to download the spotify app, which picked up in my car instantly, had no issues over multiple connection attempts - first time, every time and most importantly, works!
I'm not sure where the issue lays between BMW and Amazon, but Spotify can get it working in a seamless manner.
It sure would be nice if you would tell us where you think the problem is. Like many others, I have never updated my BMW software, and Amazon Music used to work until a recent app update. Maybe you made a change based on some newer BMW iDrive firmware API that broke it for everyone, but for all us older BMW users, the “we’re working on it with BMW” doesn’t make too much sense since you had it working, and since we haven’t altered our cars. I mean worst case scenario, revert to what used to work and then add support for newer models that have new iDrives or something.
same here as everyone else. I spoke with a BMW genius who said they are aware o fthe issue and working with Amazon. Amazon was completely useless when I spoke to them saying they are not aware of the problem. :/ Its very frustrating and makes me want to switch to Spotify.
Mine stopped working before Christmas on my 67 series 2, like others I have amazon unlimited and if this isn’t fixed by the end of Jan, I’m cancelling my subscription and going to Spotify. As a long time prime member too who spends an absolute fortunate on Amazon, reading through these threads I would have expected a speedy solution to this from Amazon, I think all us unlimited subscribers with a BMW should be compensated! Come on Amazon get your finger out this is really frustrating!
Amazon could really resolve this fairly easily by making the last working release of the app available for download. I have other apps that have stopped working after updates but the developer made the "legacy" versions still available for those that have difficulty. How about just putting the old version back up for download until the problem is corrected? Sigh....
I am very surprised and horrified by Amazon and its poor CI/CD Pipelines in their product deployment. How can an app suddenly stop working? I never updated anything on the BMW. The build team overlooked something around backward compatibility and this is happening at regular intervals. A shame for the team and the team just gives excuses..will I get credit for the app not working? Unless we hit them on the money Amazon will not care.
I will wait for one more week, if nothing get fixed, I will say a big good bye to amazon music, I am sure they will not care about me moving out, but still i will not pay for something that is not working. Shame on you Amazon
just to add another disgruntled name to the list , and to state the obvious but my Amazon unlimited music has also stopped integrating with my Connected drive in my 2 series. It happed mid December and still isn’t fixed. I can play amazon music by plugging it in via usb but I am only able to control content via phone which is dangerous so don’t bother . It will allow Alexa to do but it’s cluncky .
Come on amazon , how difficult can this be?! Just roll back update , as it worked before
