All downloads of digital content you have not purchased will need to have their licenses renewed. This requires a connection to the mother ship.
Videos and music that you are downloading and using under the various subscriptions offered will require phoning home to keep their license current. These videos and music files are not yours...you've not bought them. You're basically borrowing them.
Amazon can't legally allow this content to be downloaded and kept forever, without keeping it current. To expect this is unreasonable and naive.
If you don't want these limitations, buy the content.
Understand. For me, the way Amazon does it is clunky. Spotify lets you know how many days you have before you need to connect (It's 30 days with Spotify). Amazon just surprises you. I found the three weeks that I experienced as not acceptable, along with the other quirks - is why I canceled.
I buy music as well. However, this IS about a subscription service and it's issues...

Use the HELP link at the bottom of any Amazon page, then NEED MORE HELP...then CONTACT US...and CONTACT US again...select CALL or CHAT. The Call option allows you to input your phone number, and they will call you. Don't use email, and don't Google for a phone number, the results are scam numbers.
