Robert, I hear you about a holiday. I switched my work shift to days, and I've been doing a lot of training. Plus the work load is enormous. I feel so much better, though, than I did working nights. Still, I need a break. Luckily, I'm off this weekend.
If you are in touch with Superhuge, please give him my best. Ken also mentioned it on TC. If he has damage or has lost possessions, I would love to help out. Perhaps we could all somehow contribute and send a care package his way.
Is Omer or Phil or Piso or Angelo aware of this thread? Dichterliebe, Mandryka, MRS aka MR Simpson? Vaughan Otter?
here's an Omer post
In addition to my friend Beazly, I miss Millionrainbows even if he did accuse me of being a homophobe because I used to make fun of John Cage, that I was racist because I didn't support Barrack Obama, that I was musically ignorant (he is largely right about that) because I don't like avant garde music, and he once compared me to Archie Bunker and I didn't even call him a meathead or a dingbat. I really miss that guy!!! I miss a lot of the old timers, R. Hammel, Riviera Reviewer (he once called me a fool, Steve Farrell (he once called me a petulant clown, the nicest insult I ever received), Alonso Almenara (I love him because he called me a redneck), even the infamous TLN (Phillipe Reichenbach) who hated nearly everybody here, Macs Perkins (a guy who was only around a few months but one of the cleverest posters here ever), the wonderful, and brilliant, Clawd Rains (a guy who used to delete all his posts), Wyote the champion of the oppressed, Dale Stoin, Samuel Stephens, James Bautista, and of course, last but not least, the great Zadok the Priest. Donna Elvira is another personal friend of mine that I used to email and need to get back in touch with. She is a kind, sensitive soul, devoted to her Jewish faith, who couldn't handle the fireworks here.
I am glad to have some of the old timers around like the great ambassador of good will Edgar (the creator of this thread and many others), John Ruggeri (a guy who made me feel comfortable posting here, that may have been a mistake on his part), Greg Pomfrey, Dichterliebe, and others too numerous to mention. Vaughan Otter is somebody I have grown to appreciate. It is fun to joust with Roselare. I enjoy Anonymouse popping in when somebody makes a crack about a modernist that he takes umbrage to. Scarecrow is good to have around to remind me that some people have a polar opposite worldview from mine. It is good to have a few fairly recent additions who agree with me, to some degree politically, like Vollsteimer and Fischman. Flavius has a great gift for expressing himself with great eloquence. Even when I disagree with him I love reading his posts. Superhugefatass is both brilliant and hilarious and is one of the oldtimers. Mick and Yippers would probably rather that both my hands were paralyzed and then try to imagine me typing with my toes but if they left I would still miss them. Of course Kenoc is the regal heir to the throne abdicated by the banished Henry James. Henry Kasper, Kopp, Larry Vandesande, Magnolia Phil, Angelo Mendillo, Autonomeous (I think he is Hutch) are people I have had interesting exchanges with (often spirited disagreements).
