Please fix this feature!! I would love to use this feature to search my enormous amount of photos but it is utterly useless as is with my family photos. I cannot help it distinguish between my children as they grow and my husband!
After posting here well over a year ago that their support told me there was a fix coming I'm still not seeing a way to fix this. They finally did start tagging recent photos again, finally, so maybe they're finally giving photos some love again?
same here... choosen amazon photo for several reason, the face tagging is great, but it's sometimes off (not much frequently) and would be great to untag photos, even one by one as a frist step...
I have around 40,000 photos and I have uploaded it with the photo uploader.
I LOVE the feature of creating album from folders, and sort them by name (all my folders are like: 2006-01 Winter trip) and the fact that you can upload from multiple devices and still see all the albums in the same place and on my mobile as well..

This really, really needs to be fixed. I’d love to be able to edit the metadata already embedded in my photos, and the ability to tag and group images by tags is an essential part of any image management tool. That facial recog was rolled out without any ability to modify incorrectly tagged photos is just astonishing to me. SMH.
This definitely needs to be fixed. The face tagging works well for the most part, but it's grouped a bunch of babies I have pictures of (my twins, two of their cousins, and a friend's baby) all into one person. I also use Google Photos, and while they have automatic face tagging, you also have the ability to tell it to remove a tag from a face, so it's not like this is some impossible feature.
I am very frustrated with this problem as well. It’s unbelievable that Amazon would not include the ability to remove “Who is this?” faces. When the faces are random people in photos, not being able to dismiss them once and for all makes a mess of the interface and needlessly clutters the screen. Google does facial tagging very well. Amazon should really take a look at the Google Photos app and make improvements that bring their app up to a similar level. And, not being able to “ungroup”?? Really?? How can they even let something like this happen?? Amazon, please fix these glaring shortcomings.
I turned off the setting and turned it back on due to the number of errors in my tags. I hoped to catch a software update. It was even worse than before! Now Amazon thinks my cat, a Superman statue and my infant grandson all look alike!
I just started using Amazon photos and I have twins and am having the same problem with the software confusing the two of them as well as incorrect recognition of others. This is not going to work for me if I cannot get the correct names associated with the photos. I cannot believe how long this request has been out there without a resolution!!!
I found this forum with a google search having the same problem. You can rename or remove a name tag manually picture by picture (both in the ios app and desktop versions) but I was looking for a batch way to do this as retagging 5000 photos would cause mind constipation. Hope this gets fixed.
