I back up my photos from my phone (and my wife) to our Amazon prime phots account - its great. It stores the photos and shows them in the date and time order in which they were taken - fab!
When i download the photos to create an album say, or to store on a local drive, none of the date and time metadata comes down and the created date is changed to the date of the download
This makes it impossible to organise the photos automatically.
Is there a way around this - am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for any pointers
Hello andyf32, happy to have you here in the Forums!
You're not doing anything wrong, andyf32 . Once backed up and removed from your devices, if you try to download your photos, they will be considered as newly added items on your devices therefore, the "created" date will now be the downloaded date.
Man, that's absolutely terrible - it really makes Amazon Photos worthless as a storage location. It *shows* me the date information; it should equally well download that information. Data without metadata is not of value in today's day and age.
if you upload them from your mobile phone (at least for IOS) via Amazon photo apps even for the old ones it will keep the created date. This means you need to have them on your mobile phone 1st... Which is not the best solution.
