I retired from TWC almost a year ago and had our Intelligent home wireless monitored security system. I only used it to control zigbee appliance switches that controlled half of my Christmas light show via a web interface. With that system I was able to turn on /off these switches at designated times , programmed via a windows PC to the minute. The devices are Central lite 4256050-RZHAC switches.
I run a 35k light show for 30 minutes, then it dies and comes back on for 30 minutes statically along with more lights and 60 inflatables, which are controlled by the switches.
What software , app or device can I use to control these switches? I must be able to control these to the minute.
You need a zigbee hub. The Echo Plus and New Echo Show have built in hubs. You'll have to reset the switches and then pair them to the hub. There are other zigbee hubs out there. Check the google machine and you'll find lots of info.
I bought a smart things hub but was unable to pair any of the 7 central lite outlets if have, I believe they are first gen. zigbee. For a brief moment I was able to pair one. Thinking I was doing something wrong, I bought a smart things outlet locally and got it to pair easily. I have it working off a timer in the Samsung app, it it only appears to allow one on/off cycles per day? I got the trial version of action tiles and have it working there as well, but cant find a place there to change timer settings, I'm probably incorrect here, but it seems to draw all it's info from the Samsung app? Do I have to use the Samsung app? Is there something else out there I can use? My end game for now is to get these outlets to turn off and on 5 times a day, all in a 4 hour time frame.
