i deleted a routine for a smartlife plug about 2 months ago as i no longer used the appliance. I recently reset the smart plug to use with a different device, but it did not work and even though it is re-set up with a different name and no routines are linked to it, alexa keep turning it on at the times set on the old routine. As i can no longer see the routine i cant stop it. I have tried deleting the alexa app on all devices and reinstalling and disabling and relinking the smart life app. Any ideas?
I was able to find other threads mentioning similar issues. Did you try to completely delete the device from your Alexa app (not the Alexa app itself)?
Yes- device was completely deleted. Set up plug again through the smart life app and discovered again in Alexa. Plug is still doing the routines related to the old device. I am not sure if it is related- but had to change Amazon regions- US to AUS and in this process had to recreate some of my routines as they did not seem to transfer?

If the routines existed on the US (.com) version of your account before you switched it to the AUS (.com.au) version, and you did not delete them before the switch, they are likely still active. You will need to briefly switch back and delete them. If you need help with any of this, please use the 'Contact Us' option in your Alexa app to reach out to us via phone for live real-time support!
I'm having the same problem. With KJ B's answer I found a lot of "ghost" routines, in a different marketplace. I deleted all, but first I deleted the actions and it worked.
However, I still have at least one or two "ghost" routines: everyday at 20:30, my hall and kitchen motion sensors become enabled. This was the first routine I created and I deleted it a lot of time ago. It just keeps playing.
I don't have a household set up, like I found in another post, where the routines could be replicated and still active.
This seems like a major bug in Alexa, at least in my echo dot, given the number of posts I see about this. What could I do to purge the routines? I already spent countless hours in online chat and did it all, even a factory reset.
I’m having the same issue with old deleted routines still executing. They don’t show anywhere anymore - how can they be purged??
I have the same issue. I'm currently trying to delete them from the devices they show up on..... I've got an issue with a Harmony device that won't work anymore as well but that's a problem in another topic.
FYI. I tried deleting the Alexa app on my phone and then reloading it again, sort of like a Microsoft please reboot. Didn't work as intended at all. Got no routines back so does that mean they are all ghost routines that have to be deleted from every device I own? It's like all the devices, in this case routines, are not updating across all the device platforms. My Wifes Kindle still showed the routines that got deleted from my phone and those routines didn't load back up when I reloaded the app again.
Also, when you delete the Alexa app and reload I've lost my Amazon plugs... all five of them. I've got roughly 20+ smart plugs, switches in my house. all the others relinked except the Amazon plugs.

Ok- but will this then delete all the other routines I have that I have created since the move???
