I received an Amazon Cloud Cam for Christmas, it works fine with the cloud cam app and the Amazon Alexa App on my phone. But when I tell my Echo to turn it on or off it responds "Your provider couldn't do that." I searched on this and come up with nothing. I did look at my registered devices and it was registered to my account on Dec 26th.
Thank you for the reply. I went through the steps and now the symptoms have changed.
Now it says "(name of camera) doesn't support that" when I tell Alexa to turn off the (name) camera. But when I say "Alexa, turn on (name)" it responds "OK". I turned the camera off with the Cloud Cam app to verify that it really did work and it does turn on with Alexa voice command.
I, too, am unable to turn off my cloud cam with alexa. I can turn the cloud cam on just fine.
I discovered while trying to create a routine. Leave home=cloud cams on. Come home or go to bed=cloud cams off. The home/away feature rarely works, so I wanted to fool proof it.
Has anyone figured out how to turn off or disable cloud cams via voice command with alexa app or echo devices?
Hi, I too was faced with this issue - I couldn't turn off Amazon cloud cam via Echo/Alexa. It was only able to turn the cam on. I kinda solved this by using a smart plug with cloud cam and turning off the plug from Alexa.
