If I run the routine manually it runs fine. But it never get triggered automatically. Right now is 16,9C and nothing happens. If I create the same routine but triggered by schedule, it runs perfectly. But not by Temperature.
Funny you should ask that. In the middle of the night, I know the temp had dropped so I asked what the temp was and the light turned on and the temp was a few degrees below the set point so it should have come on much earlier!!!
But throughout the day it hasn't been working.
I did create two Routines now, one to turn it on and another to turn it off
Any luck with this? I have the same issue. Simplest possible routine that just sends an alert to my Alexa app. It runs fine if manually triggered. Ultimately I'm trying to replace the hive schedules with Alexa routines so I can lose the hive thermostat.
It didn't trigger for me, even when it passed the righttr point. Although, why you would want it to behave like that is a mystery to me. I can't see how that could be useful unless you run it 24/7, which would not work for me.
I'm watching this topic with great interest. I was planning on getting an Amazon Echo Plus 2nd generation, Alexa and smart plug primarily to control heater, but from what I see this is not possible. It appears one cannot read the temperature sensor greater than or less than a certain value and act on it.
The routine which is based a trigger by the temperature changes (build in temperature sensor in Echo Plus ) don't work always. Until I checked out temperature manually by asking Alexa or through the Alexa app
I suspect these routines fail because proper function would depend on Amazon's server (where the routine actually runs) polling the Echo Plus at frequent intervals, and it appears they simply don't do that.
Perhaps they should have designed it with an onboard "set point" for the temperature sensor, which would then push the information to Amazon once triggered.
Same issue with new echo plus purchased today, set up simple routine and tried different make of smart plugs and no luck, only springs into action when asked what the temperature is, so totally pointless as may as well just ask for heating or air con to be turned on or off.
For this feature is the only reason I purchased the echo plus, it cannot be us end users all getting something so simply wrong? Simple routine when temperature goes below 22c turn air con off and when it goes above 24c turn it on, shame it isn’t working will send it back tomorrow and go back to original one and save the money.
if any one has got it working please drop a message over as willing to try once more. Thanks
