I'm totally hammered by this product. I can't get it to work AT ALL! I'm shocked that Amazon releases a product of such shockingly poor quality. This plug just keeps blinking blue then red. I get codes 3:16:0:1 and -1:-1:-1:-1
I don't want to 'try again'.

Have taken Wroskain's advice and connected the Amazon Smart Plug to the ISP's (AT&T) WiFi vs. the eero mesh network and left it in an off mode. The plug updated itself within 90 minutes from v1000012 to v1000015 and has been working as advertised since then. I'll give it a few days, switch it back to the eero network and report back.
1ball99 . . . If you check, I think you will find that all the new Amazon brand smart plugs are v1000012 right out-of-the-box. My original purchase was in December and the replacement they insisted on sending me last week was also v1000012. You can't push a software upgrade to the plug, it has to get the upgrade on its own.
Has this issue ever been resolved? I bought a bunch of Smart Plugs over the holidays and they worked great until about May of this year. Now my smartplugs go "unresponsive" after ~ 2 hours of not being used. I have deleted and re-added the plugs a dozen times and they all work great for a few hours and then "boom"-- unresponsive again!
This is happening to all my smartplugs, not just one. They are running software version "1000015" and I'm running an eero network.
I'd rather not try to return and rebuy all new smartplugs if there was a workaround, or if Amazon could fix this glitch.
Thank you for this, had the same issue with the eero mesh network, replaced one plug I thought didn't work before reading this. Connected the smart plug to my "root" network and it's been working fine ever since.
