I've been following this thread since before the fix was posted about two days ago. Even after, I have tried all of the previous fixes mentioned, and I still haven't been able to get one to successfully connect. I've tried all of this on two separate plugs and neither will finish the setup process. It always connects to the actual device almost immediately, but then it gives me the provisioning error when trying to connect to my Wi-Fi.
Oddly enough, similar to what flwrsnyurhair has said, my echo dots have also been acting up lately. Not sure if that's related at all.
Planning on waiting another few more days and trying some more before either returning or asking for a replacement. Was really looking forward to these things.
If you have the 12 hour time format on your phone ***Please change that to 24 hour format to complete the setup*** The Development Team is currently tracking the open bug, you can go back to 12 hour time format in mobile after completing the setup.
1) Retry the setup
2) If that doesn't work, change the 12 hour time format to a 24 hour format and re-setup!
As more information becomes available I will post here! Thanks!
As they have no solution for problem. I am going to order a replacement and see if that plug will work. I suggest everyone else does the same and stop wasting your time trying to get your product to connect.
I am having the same problem, but mine WAS working, then I unplugged the Dot to put it in a wall holder, and when I reconnected, the plug would not work. 'Provisioning Failure." Unable to join the network. My error code was (3:16:0:1) Sounds like a Bible verse -- maybe I should pray for a quick solution. Very very frustrating.
tried out all options. Asked for a replacement. But I don't have any hope as this looks like a software issue with Alexa App. Wondering how this plug got 4+ rating even though the issue existing from October 2018
