My Echo Show will no longer show either my Dropcam (Nestcam) camera or my Arlo. It used to show, now it either responds with OK and doesn't show anything, or it shows "Waiting for Nest" and then doesn't move from this screen.
When I tell it to go home, the screen doesn't refresh, it stays on the "Waiting for Nest" for several seconds.
It's really screwed up, and customer support is completely unhelpful.
Update: Of course, after I post: If I turn it off for 16 seconds, and back on, I can get camera to work. You can't just turn it on and off, you have to turn it off completely for 16 seconds.
So, something got stuck somewhere.
Update again: Spoke too soon. It's now screwed up again. I'd say Amazon shouldn't tout the Show's ability to show security cameras until this is fixed.
Hi Shelley! I'm so sorry contacting Customer Service didn't solve the issue. We're uncertain of the steps they had you already attempted and we certainly don't want to make you go through them again, so could you briefly let us know what you've already attempted other than turning it off for the 16 seconds? A few more troubleshooting tips can be found here in the meantime. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
I just recently got an Echo Show and I too thought it should be able to show me the Security cameras I have in the house. I have a Vivint System and some other brand Security Cameras. The only one I have tried to view so far is my Vivint camera and it didn't show me on the Echo Show it showed the camera feed on the Vivint Sky Panel. Well that completely is useless to me. If I have my Echo Show in one room no where near the Sky panel what is the point? Which Camera systems work to be shown on the Echo Show? Can I configure any Security Camera to show me the feed or just specific brands? Thanks.
