Today I had 3 "On Deck Downloads" show up in my notifications - called "Bosch", "Just Add Magic" and "Red Oaks" - what are these? Have they actually been downloaded to my device? If they have, how do I delete them permanently? Also, I have no interest in anything that is automatic - can I turn this feature off? Could you please explain this feature to me? I am not familiar with it at all - Thank you.
It's explained in the User Guide on your Fire. Movie and TV shows downloaded under "On Deck" appear in the Offline list of your Library. The downloads can be deleted in the same way as any other but will be deleted automatically if the free space gets low. The feature can be turned off.
For other readers: Tap "Video" Tap "Library" Tap "Menu" or swipe in from left edge of screen Tap "Settings" Tap switch next to "On Deck" to turn it off (stops automatic downloads) NOTE: Any "On Deck Downloads" already on your device will be automatically deleted for you when you switch "On Deck" to off. Amazon once again decided that this would be a Default Feature - not giving us a chance to choose whether we wanted this or not
That's marketing for you. You didn't know the feature existed, so even if it had been the most useful feature of your Kindle you wouldn't have been using it if the default was "Off". Now you know all about it. Marketing strategy successful. Expect more of the same in future.
