I've been using the Export Notes feature ever since it came out. It has always worked beautifully, seamlessly sending a pdf of all my notes to my email. I LOVE this feature. But, since the last upgrade, it has not worked. Every thing seems fine, I just don't ever get the email. (Step by step detail below.)
Unfortunately no one at customer service seems to grasp the issue. I've talked (chat and phone) to several agents and at some point I always have to explain how the Export Notes feature works. (How can Amazon expect these folks to provide "service" if they're not even familiar with the device?) They finally said they'd have to create a ticket and refer it to engineering. That was over a week ago and when I checked to see what (if anything) was happening, all they offered was pulling the notes off the web (which I already knew but it is a more cumbersome process than using Export Notes) or changing my email address. Neither of those makes any sense to me.
This feature worked just fine, then all of a sudden it didn't. Nothing changed on my end, which suggests something changed at Amazon. I'm not 100% certain that the issue relates to the upgrade but I am 100% that I have not been able to Export notes since then.
If someone can tell me how to fix this, or how to get in touch with someone who actually knows how it is supposed to work, I'd very much appreciate it!
Here is what happens.
I select "Go To."
I select the "Notes" tab.
I go to the bottom of the page and select "Export Notes." \ I select "Export Notes," and get the screen that says "We will send your notes and highights to the email address on your Amazon account."
I select "Send." At the top of the screen the little wheel spins and the Kindle says "Exporting notes...."
When it finishes, it says "Thanks-the email with your notes is on the way."
