I'm bringing my old 7th Generation Kindle to France? What do I need to bring as far as recharging goes?
Amazon branded chargers generally work world wide. You will need a plug adapter for European outlets. Other chargers may or may nor work on 220, check the labels for information. Check on nay device's power plug you intend to use. Most good electronics are voltage agnostic but don't assume.
Amazon sells plug adapters of all sorts and offers nice kits that will work almost anywhere in the world if you travel a lot;
Just search for "travel outlet adapter" or similar. Also, any USB port you find will work regardless of location so if it's a fancy place, it might have some USB ports already. I'm starting to see more such in hotels and other locations.
To add: do NOT use a US power strip overseas even with an outlet adapter. The wiring won't like it and you risk fire and a surge suppressor will trip instantly. Buy one rated for 220, you can get them here or in country (probably at a horrible price though on that end given European tax rates).
NOTE: I do NOT speak for or represent Amazon in any fashion. This is a customer to customer forum.
