I have purchased this Kindle Oasis (9 Gen) a year and some ago ( more than a year just enough to be out of warranty). Barely used it, yet one day the device stoped working. I tried to reset it several times, still frozen. I call customer service and they say all they can offer is 15% discount on a new device. They don't seem to know what happened and only notified me that the device 'died'. No other explanation. So I paid almost $300 for something that 'just died' after one year or light use. I find the situation outrageous and offensive. Needless to say I will not buy another kindle as I cannot afford spending $300 every 1 year or so for devices that a qualitatively inferior. Anybody else has a similar experience doubled by Amazon's customer service inability to help?
Nope, I still have one Kindle that still works that I purchased in 2010 for over $300. I'm not sure that most ereader companies even offer to give you a discount on a new one once the device is out of warranty, but Amazon does.
did you make sure it was fully charged (green light) and did you reboot it (not reset it) by holding the power button in for a full 30 seconds (ignoring any messages that come up)?
have you tried leaving it plugged into a computer overnight?
ETA: I have 10 Amazon devices = 3 Fires and 7 Kindles and two of those kindles even survived a dip in liquid
