I have several books and a couple docs from which I need to copy and paste bits of text. Using google, I found instructions for accessing my highlights from my content, online. But, I do not see this option under "Actions" anywhere. Can someone help?
Update: I tired adding Kindle app for PC to my PC, but apparently I cannot export a mobi doc from Kindle to that app. What's next?
Doc files are not books from Amazon's point of view. I am not sure you can do what you want to do with them this way. Mobi filers are not part of Amazon's ecosystem even when converted and they treat them differently, they are "personal documents" rather than books.
NOTE: I do NOT speak for or represent Amazon in any fashion. This is a customer to customer forum.

For personal docs you can email the notes to yourself. How you do this differs depending on the device you are reading on.
Kindle eReader (the eInk ones):
- When in the personal doc open up the menu (3 dots) while in the book and select Notes. You can then send the notes to yourself in an email
- When in the personal doc open up the Notebook by clicking on the 3 dot menu and slect Notebook. There should be an export button in the top right corner.
- When in the personal doc tap on the middle of the screen, open up the Notebook by clicking on the menu item that looks like a piece of paper. Click on the Share icon (looks like a page with an arrow) and select email.
