After about 7 months of owning the Oasis it just stared to freeze and not respond to the power button at all. I sent it in to be repaired and they sent it back doing the exact same thing. The oasis is frozen completely. They also sent it back to my roommate not to me. It was purchased with my account, sent back with my name on it and they still sent it to my house with the wrong name. I contacted customer service and was lied to a few times. I was told the some books cause this to happen and that they had preformed a hard reset on my device. I wanted to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said that they had no way of knowing the techs did. Then he told me I can get a refurbished kindle as swap. The technicians obviously cannot handle repairing them otherwise they would have had better sense than to send back a defective device. I have been sent a defective product, lied to by Amazon customer service and now have to make another trip to send this piece of junk back to them so they can just send it back to me likely not doing anything to actually fix it again.
First of all -- there is NO authorized way to repair any Amazon kindle or fire device! If you did that then Amazon won't help. If you mean by "repair", you sent it in under warranty to be replaced, that's a different story. Sending it to another name implies Amazon itself was not involved in the repair.
In what way did they lie to you?

There is no such thing as a stupid question!
Corollary -- so long as you read before you post and stay on topic. :)
Who is the 'they' in " I sent it in to be repaired and they sent it back doing the exact same thing." Amazon? Someone else? As Occasional Customer says, if it was someone else, Amazon are unlikely to help you resolve issued with a device someone else has opened it.
How would Amazon know your roommate's name to address it to them if the purchase and return were handled under your account?
