So I am sure this is something I am doing wrong but I am in need of assistance.
I have recently purchased a 10th gen Kindle and am using the Audible app on my android. The book I purchased I also choose the "add the narration for $7) so both items came from the Kindle store.
I am having issues with the syncing of my last known position on the Kindle and then the audible app seeing this and moving forward. I also have to choose manually sync the Kindle to the farthest read page after listening. I had the Kindle ask me to do it automatically once but never since.
I have already made sure that the Whispersync is turned on both Kindle device and on my Amazon account.
I also always make sure to return to Home on the kindle and wait for it to update its percentage before putting it to sleep. I have even tried choosing the "sync my kindle" button at the top however this morning when I opened the audible app, it was still 3 chapters behind, and I had to manually choose the chapter I was on. I choose "refresh" on my audible library but that makes no difference.
I have also deleted and re installed the book on my audible app (however not yet on the kindle). When I do this, the audible app wants to go to its farthest location, however it still did not match the Kindle. There do not appear to be any book updates that I can see.
Is there a manual process I need to do on the Kindle to ensure it syncs? The process has worked properly a couple times, but it is very inconsistent. I have followed many of the support sites on audible and amazon, but none seem to be working.
I cannot imagine the feature is this inconsistent in general or there would be a lot more documentation and complaining on it, so I have to assume I am missing a step somewhere.
I am assuming that is what is being used. All your link did was take me to a page explaining the feature but not actually how to "turn it on" or "use it".
I have enabled Whispersync from my Amazon "devices and content page", and I ensured it is enabled in my Kindle.
When I purchased the book, I checked the box that indicated for an additional $7.50 I could add the voice narration to it.
Everything I Read says this should be an automatic process but something is clearly not working.
Most of the time after listening to the audio book on my Android app, I close out of the app, come home and my Kindle will either identify this and offer to take me to that page (as it just did this afternoon ) or I will choose "sync to Furthest Page Read" and it will take me to where the audio book stopped.
However most of the time, if not all of the time, the Audible app will not recognize that the book has advanced, as if I have not read any further, and I have to manually find the chapter I left off on.
As stated before I always choose "home" on the Kindle and have it return to the home screen and update the book percentage before putting it to sleep, and I choose "refresh" in the library of the Audible app before starting the story however this has not made a difference.
