I've tried that multiple times. It'll then seem to work for a little while but it'll popup the search screen (as if there's a "hot-key" for search and I'm accidently hitting it). Also, noticed that a random word in the same location (top of screen near top right corner) keeps getting mysteriously selected (as if I'm trying to look up the word in the dictionary). Do I maybe have a bad screen? Or is the sensitivity set to high or something?
I've had Kindles for going on 10 years now and have never had such strangeness before. In fact I sorta wish I had rebought the Voyager...
Recently my kindle has started to randomly open the "recent searches" screen... Its running 5.11.2 .
Any advice? Is there a short cut gesture or something that I'm invoking unknowingly?
Thanks!
Steve
Hi Sskarupa,
Welcome to the digital and device forum!
I am sorry you are having this issue with your Paperwhite.
Did you try a restart of your Kindle Paperwhite to see if this resolves your issue?
From Home, select Menu, and then select Settings. From Settings, select Menu again, and then select Restart.
I hope this helps. Keep us updated!

Steve
the Voyage is running the same OS level and hasn't been offered new since 2015
Hi Steve,
Mine has started doing the same thing. Did you manage to get it resolved?
Cheers,
Flo
