I I have been using Kindle for PC for years and have never had any problems with it. I like it almost as well as the second generation reader I own and the Fire HD10. However, when I tried to start it up this morning on my Windows 10 Desktop it gave me an error message that said something like kindle.exe - Bad Image. It also gave me a number 0xc0000020.I tried to reinstall several times and got the same message. I tried a system restore and it failed.
I looked at my Windows Updates and found that one had been made last night. I deleted the update and installed Kindle for PC. It worked perfectly. The download and installation were good and my content sync'ed to my device library. I opened a few books and read a few pages to test. However, I was reluctant to delete a Windows Update so I put it back. When I tried to open Kindle for PC with the Windows Update installed, It wouldn't open and I got the same error message,
I wonder if someone out there might know womething that I might do to fix this thing. I surely would appreciate it.
I suggest you check with Microsoft on that update -- with that full K number. It's obviously something in the update. They might have a circumvention or a fix. You may have to have an ID for Microsoft to check. I found I had to do that several years ago.
