I just bought a Kindle Paperwhite for my kids. It's registered to me and I enabled parental controls.
The problem is that my kids are still able to see my reading lists, along with "recommended for you", "most wished for", "new releases", etc. Even though my kids can't purchase books on their own, I'd love to get this off of the home screen. Is that possible? I just want the Kindle to be something to read with, without any distractions for my kids.
I too am trying to sort this out. I gave my kids our older 1st gen paperwhite, after we purchased the new one. Also, when linking a goodreads account, it links it with the registered account and not the device, unfortunately. "Household" really isn't that efficient.
Goodreads is a Kindle Account to Goodreads Account link. It's never been a device to Goodreads link. However, there is nothing stopping anyone from creating a new Goodreads account and manually adding books to the account and tacking their books that way. You can use Goodreads without even having an Amazon account at all.
