and somehow it can't find the password info stored on Amazon. And then I have to enter the password manually, but it doesn't accept it. So I come here to ask how to fix it.... Yeah. Tonight I wanted to pick up Valley of Horses where I left it last night - but Kindle needs to update, and NOTHING I have done makes it work. So now, I can't read a damn book because of all this stuff that doesn't work the way it should. Or at least, the way I expect it to.
So what's the answer this time? In other words, help?
Did you put a PIN on it to open the lock screen? I've never had any of my Kindles or Fires ask me to enter my Amazon password after an update, just the PIN to open it. Sounds like yours is deregistering itself somehow and I suggest you talk to Customer Service (this is not it - we're other customers) for some one on one real time help.

That's not normal behavior unless you've somehow deregistered it from your account or someone else has done that to you.
