Hello Ursula Kovacs, Welcome to Amazon Digital and Device Forum!
I'm sorry you're having trouble with your Kindle Paperwhite.
Check the wireless connectivity on your Kindle. If wireless connectivity is disabled, your Kindle will not connect to 3G (if applicable) or to a saved Wi-Fi network automatically.
Check that your wireless router is set to use a Wi-Fi channel from 1 to 11. Refer to your Internet service provider, if they provided your wireless router, or the router manufacturer, for additional help.
Restart your Kindle and modem and/or router. Press and hold the Power button on your Kindle for seven seconds until the Power dialog box appears, and then tap Screen Off. Turn off your router and/or modem for 30 seconds, and then turn them back on. Press and hold the Power button on your Kindle until it turns on, and then try to connect to your Wi-Fi network again.
