Hello, all. I've seen similar threads, but not an actual solution to my particular problem. I bought the latest Paperwhite in January. In my old Paperwhite, I could go to my library and it would show the collections, then I'd swipe along until I got the list of books in my library I hadn't yet read and assigned to a collection. I can't figure out how to do that with my new one.
1. When I have my library "show all" it lists all the books, including the ones that are in my collections.
2. I want to have the library show only the books I haven't read and put into a collection and then be able to go to collections.
3, When I am in the library and check "collections" it shows only one collection with one book in it and at the bottom is says there are more collections in the cloud, but it doesn't show any of unread and un-collected books in my library.
4. I know I'm missing something. I had it set up in my previous Paperwhite, but have no clue what's going on with this one.
I hope I made it clear what I've done and what's happening, or not happening. There may be something in the settings elsewhere that I'm missing. Does anyone have an idea?
I knew there was a way to get those stars in there. Thank you!
Now I can see all my collections, but not the ones in the library I haven't read yet. I used to be able to swipe past the collections and the unread ones would be after that. I'll keep fiddling to see what else I need to do.
I believe that I have Paperwhite, no idea of generation. I have all of my books on the kindle. I have numerous collections. The problem is that the books that are in the collections are also on the main screen. On my old kindle, which the dog ate, I was able to show on the main screen only those books which were not in collections. With this device I have been unable to keep the main screen clean.
as i said above: Your Home page needs to look like this:
All | Downloaded ___ All Items (or Cloud) ___ Collections
and on all my Kindles, including the 2009 Kindle 2, that layout results in a listing of Collections followed by books not in Collections. The only model Kindle I haven't had is a Kindle 3 and the Kindle Oasis, but they both worked like that. The far right option (Sort option) has to be set to Collections. However, on the Paperwhite, the Collections need to be downloaded and you can do so by following Ann's instructions (post 2)
