Hello, i have a kindle, im not exactly sure witch generation is it, but un the "my devices" settings is registered as a 8th generation. The probrem i have is that it doesnt charge, there is a battery simbol with a exclamation sign in the middle of the screen, and it doesnt go off, i connected it to charge for 8 hours but it still didnt change anything, i have tried the 40 sec pressing restart metod, but it only makes the screen flashes for a sec and then the batery simbol comes again, i had this kindle for somewhat two months, and i really treated it with care, i dont know the reason its malfunctioning. Please help
unless you have enough battery power (you don't if you see that battery symbol), doing a restart won't do anything because it doesn't have enough power to reboot
try a different cord/cable
if you're charging from a computer, make sure the computer is plugged in and use a different port to see if that's the problem.
Email is the worst way to get help. Use the Help link as explained and talk to CS. They will walk you through troubleshooting step and replace the device under warranty if necessary.
If you bought it in the US and took it with you to Argentina or had someone ship it to you, you will have to pay shipping both ways (and any duty or taxes on the replacement) even if it is under warranty.

from Amazon? If so, then it's covered bya warranty from amazon.com if you're still within the warranty period
use Chat and talk to Amazon - we can't do anything for you other than to make the suggestions that we already have, but they might be able to give you some more one on one real time help and if your devices is dead and outside of the warranty period, they might offer a discount on a new device.
Amazon doesn't have a presence in Argentina so take it back to whoever you bought it from and good luck with that. :) I doubt you have a warranty since you didn't buy it from an official source in all probability.
You take a chance when you buy things this way and this is what can happen. Likely you got sold second hand junk. (basura vieja desde un ladrone).
