I have a new Generation 10 Kindle Paperwhite however I’ve tried to access the store to purchase some books and i keep getting the message store unavailable at the moment try again later. Any suggestions would be welcome, I believe everything is set up correctly, this is my third Kindle.
Is your Kindle Paperwhite connected to your Wi-Fi network?
To connect to a Wi-Fi network:
From the Home screen, select Menu, and then select Settings.
Depending on your device, select Wireless, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth (newer generation devices); Wi-Fi Networks, or View next to Wi-Fi Settings (earlier generation devices).
If your Wi-Fi network and router support WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), your Kindle will detect it. From the Wi-Fi Password Required screen, tap WPS, and then press the WPS association button on your router to connect.
If your network doesn't support WPS, enter the Wi-Fi network password. If you don't know this password, contact the person who set up the Wi-Fi network.
Select your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password, if it's a password-protected network. If you don't know the password, contact the network administrator or person who set up the network.
If you are already connected to your Wi-Fi network, have you tried restarting your device to see if the issue persists?
To restart your device:
Press and hold the Power button for seven seconds until the Power dialog box appears.
Tap Restart. Note: If the Power dialog box doesn't appear, press and hold the power button for a full 40 seconds to restart your Kindle.

Hi Alexander, thank you for trying to assist me! I have a Paperwhite 4G +LTE so I don’t have to connect to a WiFi network and I have ensured that my kindle isn’t in Aeorplane mode so all should be good, and my kindle is showing as having LTE (4 bars) so the signal appears to be strong enough. When I’m trying to connect to the store the things below are happening. A message appears that says “Updating your Kindle Store experience. This should take less than a minute” (Actual time takes about 5 minutes)
Then pop-up box says:
”The Kindle Store is currently unavailable. Try again at a later time.
I used the Kindle Store option through the right hand button on the Home screen page (3 dots), as the quick action store icon on the Home screen doesn’t respond for some reason. Please help as I’m getting over it!
Hi again Alexander, I left it a couple of days as I was busy however yesterday when I tried I was able to get a connection and managed to download 3 books (success at last)! Today I went on again just to test it and I was able to connect to the Store but couldn’t access anything, that is either to read a book profile or view any books under options eg; Australian Authors etc, so I closed everything down again and waited a while. Logged back on and again success with everything, I’m totally at a loss as to why this would be happening? How long do I have to return my Kindle, as I obviously don’t want it replaced if it’s working ok, but I also need it to be reliable.....what is your best suggestion please?
