Yeah, but when you hand over a book, all your other books are still available to you.
As are the Kindle books on the device. 'Copies' are available for you to read on all compatible devices, up to the number of licenses allowed by the publisher. If that happens to be six (very common, some are unlimited...however, textbooks may be limited to one or two licenses), six people can read the same book, on six different devices...at the same time. Not feasible with one copy of a physical book.
There are gift cards with the Kindle logo Amazon is calling "KIndle Gift cards" but that's just one choice out of multiple designs. but they are standard Amazon gift cards to be used for anything. Few if any retailers are going to limit how you spend gift card money especially when it would entail major efforts to implement such a system on their end.
NOTE: I do NOT speak for or represent Amazon in any fashion. This is a customer to customer forum.

Meya, their original posts contained a spammy link as a sig ...which the Mods have since removed. Appeared the post comments were just something related to the thread to facilitate getting the link visible...albeit briefly. JMO.
That's not correct. The OP edited their own post, and replied to the thread. OP=original poster.
I see no posts in this thread that were edited by a Mod.
Clarification. 'Likesusp' originally had what looked like a copy of heading (relating to purchasing Likes on a popular social media site) within their post about the Music upgrade. The same info then moved out of the post and became their sig link. They then posted in this thread with the sig link. I reported them as Spam because the actual post content just seemed to be a means by which to get the link info posted. Can't explain how the original post changed to sig link or Mods removal of sig aren't reflected as Edits. (Mods don't always mark as Edited.)
I was referring only to the original post date. The OP. Which is why I said "the op asked the question over a year ago".
I see no sig line in Likesup's post, but I do see a link that points to an Amazon page.
If Mod edits don't always show as such, they certainly should. But you seem to be seeing things in this thread that are not there.
Everything I'm referring to occurred early this morn. In my report to Mods, I noted Likesups' post added nothing to this thread topic (being it's just a general link to the Kindle book home page...AND, as you note, especially after this long). The Mods removed the sig link. Agree that edits by Mods SHOULD display to accurately reflect changes.
My opinion is that if a post contains something that brings moderation, the entire post should be removed. I've never liked the "edit" option that the Mods can use. On the old forums, posts were never changed or edited by a Mod. They were deleted in-toto.
I also think the edit post option for users should have a time limit. Edits by members should be for clarity or horrible grammar issues, or correction of wrong info. Endless edit time means a user never has to own their words
No argument from me on those points. IMO the posts were spam, reported as such, but saw that just the link was removed leaving what you see (and of no value in this thread). Their other post asked about pricing info for the Music upgrade, and those details are readily available in the FAQs. As mentioned, appeared they just threw in some verbiage...in this case a link....to give the post some 'legitimacy' for however long they could keep their link 'for buying likes' visible.
ETA: in light of the issues Occasional Customer had regarding how the forum displayed, suppose it's possible the first time I saw Likesups' post with the partial, very large 'heading' as part of the post content, perhaps the page hadn't fully loaded and that text was always intended to be the sig (therefore, no edit was necessary or put in place). Did notice there was no Edit the next time I viewed the post and now had sig link... so something wonky. (Times like this, wish I had screenshot...)
