The battery on my Kindle paper white is supposed to last weeks but only lasts a few days. What can I do?
Only read 30 minutes or less a day, without using reading enhancements, lighting, or wifi?
If you read significantly on a daily basis, a few days of battery use is normal.
Of course, if you are not reading at all or less than 30 minutes a day, and it still only lasts a few days, you may have a book stuck indexing. The initial setup and download of your library will eat up your battery, with the need to charge it within a day or two. After that, though, once all books are downloaded and indexed afterwards, the battery length between charges depends on one's use.
To check for stuck indexing books, try a search for a nonsense word (such as alejffflkda). If any book titles show up, delete them from the device. Repeat it until there are no search results. Do this both with and without a book open, for optimum results.
