LCD/LED/OLED, Plasma and DLP TVs can only display progressively scanned images — they cannot display a native 1080i signal. They display an incoming interlaced signal through down-scaling (down-conversion, de-interlacing) to 720p. So set your TV and fire device to 720p and enjoy.
In my specific case, the TV (rather old) have fullHD resolution (1920x1080), but the device is capable only up to 1080i (interlaced).
My BlueRay (and other device i can connect, like a laptop via hdmi cable), is able to control the LCD in fullHD, but only using interlaced mode.
So, if i could enable interlaced mode in firestick 4K i would enjoy a much better resolution. At the opposite, with 720P i have an up-scale, that produced somewhat slightly blurred images.
So, the question is, can the firestick work in interlaced mode 1080i ?

I would like to know if it is possible to extend supported resolutions to 1080i (interlaced, not-p)
Unfortunately, my TV set cannot work with 1080p but 1080i only.
I have upgraded from Firestick basic to 4K basically because the vanilla one had no control to adjust
zoom scale while working on 720p, and display was cropped. The new Firestick 4K finally have this control,
but i'm still stuck on 720p.
I beg firestick OS developers to add "interlaced mode resolutions" via HDMI if possible by the new hardware.
Where can i forward my enquiry ?
