Unlike many others, I didn't have trouble accessing Disney + content at launch, however, all the content I tried was coming through with PCM 2.0 audio and regular HD (no 4K) regardless of what quality the Disney+ app said the content should be. I tried adjusting all the video/sound settings on both my Fire TV and AVR and nothing affected it. Likewise, with my normal audio/video settings on my FTV (Automatic up to 4K video; DD+ automatic audio--it is coming through HDMI, FWIW) I continue to get DD+/4K content via Prime Video, Netflix as usual. Was wondering if perhaps Disney decided to throttle all the content down later in the day to relieve congestion but haven't seen any information suggesting that was the case?
Is anyone else having this experience? Is there some other reason that the FTV is pushing lower quality content out from one app and not another? Is there some Disney app setting I am not seeing? Can't believe it is a FTV/AVR hardware setting issue if it works fine via another app...
Disney is having issues and one of the ways to effect a short term solution would be to decrease the bandwidth by producing a lower quality image until they have time to effect a hardware solution.
