Hello! On August 20th my Insignia 43" 4K Fire Tv Edition got a software update from you guys, and so all HDR content on Netflix get so dark it is impossible to watch. Every other content is fine. Are you going to fix the problem anytime soon?
Same TV with the same problem. There is seemingly no information on this Fire OS version that completely broke HDR content. It's like I am wearing sunglasses while watching it. And it's not just Netflix. Any Xbox One X games with HDR are unplayable with how dark they are. Youtube has the same issue. I'm convinced the firmware itself can't display the content properly. And unfortunately on the Insignia Fire TV Edition there is little to no picture adjustment options, so HDR remains unusable until it is fixed.
Everything was fine up until a week or two ago. Please fix this asap.
Same problem here with the same tv. After the update PS4 is super dark with HDR on. Waiting for a solution guys. So far... The only fix was to disable HDR.
having the same problem - was driving me crazy not knowing what was wrong. All of a sudden, HDR content is way way too dim to see anything, across Netflix, Prime Video, my PS4 and everything. hope there is a fix soon because I feel like I just wasted my money on this TV!
Also have this problem on this insignia fire tv, is there a location where I can get a recovery image (i.e. 6.2.5.8) ? Pressing the tv power button while powering on allow to boot from usb a recovery img, we may only need an older image to be able to downgrade?

So why not contact Amazon or Xiaomi as suggested multiple times? Posting here will do exactly nothing. Amazon does not monitor this customer to customer forum forum for this stuff, that is why they have customer service links everywhere.

>I have same issue with my Fire TV 4k stick. HDR content is really dark and washed out.
Interesting and helpful to know that it also happens on the amazon fire tv 4k stick, now the chances of getting a fix rapidly should be higher as it is not only a one brand specific issue ...
Your TV brand does not matter for this problem I believe as the HDMI input is fully provided by your Amazon fire stick so I believe we just need to wait for the next update.
Worst case scenario, we could end up investigate how to downgrade to 6.2.5.8, but that would be sad and risky (could brick the fire tv OS!) and I'm confident they will update soon.
I was unsuccessful in replicating this problem on the Fire TV 4K watching the 4K UHD version of "Bosch" on Prime Video. Maybe you have a different video that does NOT play properly from Prime Video that could be tested?
You have to check that the video you chose to watch actuallystreams with HDR not only UHD, HDR also happens with HD resolution and is about color dynamics (bit depth) if I remember well not resolution.
Also, not every streamed videos have HDR enabled, only few of them (fortunately in our case even if it is still horrible).
This has been driving me nuts! I reset the whole tv to factory setting just to log back in and everything still be dark when watching! What do we do about this?
Just checked to make absolutely clear I was watching UHD HDR. Here's "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" on my Fire TV 4K (after a little buffering to get up to speed). Seems fine. The photo doesn't do it justice.
Have been in touch with both Insignia and Amazon, the gist of what they both said is that basically Amazon's team is looking in to fixing it and all we can do is wait.

Hello Jfbiron,
Have you checked to see if the Netflix app is up-to-date on your Fire TV Edition TV?
You may also want to try clearing the app's data and cache to see if you continue to experience this issue.
To do so:
I hope this helps.
I have been in contact with insignia. I will keep you updated.

Same problem here. Impossible to watch some things on Netflix and even my Apple TV got completely dark. Hope they fix this soon.
All of you need to contact Amazon directly or your TV maker for support and assistance.
There seem to be numerous threads on this subject so lean on Amazon/TV makers. Only place a fix will originate.

Have you received any update on this issue, from Amazon or Insignia?
Still experiencing this issue. Downloaded Disney + today and half is unwatchable because of this issue. Really hoping we get a fix soon.
