One by one, I have tried to install three fire tv sticks, including the latest 4k on my hdtv. I have everything connected and the other hdmi channels work fine. I put the stick in the hdmi slot on the tv with and without the extender. Fire tv starts and shows the language selection, which I use to select English, US. Then it scans for networks and shows the one I want. I feed in the proper password and the connection fails. I've checked the password and it is correct. Fire TV shows the right network. I have tried three fire tv sticks. I have booted my router and modem. I have powered off the stick and unplugged and plugged it back in several times. The TV is working fine. Spectrum is working fine. Fire TV refuses to connect with the network it is showing me.
I called spectrum and the tech said to reboot the router and/or change the password. I booted the modem/router. I really do not want to change my password because it is working with everything else and 1) I am not confident a new password would work any better than the old one, and 2) I would have to change the password for everything else including printers, etc.
I think I have tried everything, but nothing works. Any ideas?
How do you do a factory reset? On each fire stick? What I don't understand is fire tv can see my network in the list of available networks, but Amazon absolutely cannot accept my password. My correct, verified password for the network Amazon sees.
