If you are using ExpressVPN. Force Stop it in “Manage Applications”. Clear the data and cache. Then restart. Your time will update, or should. Good luck. The VPN auto starting when you turn everything on might beat your settings behind the scenes and confuses the network time settings inside the Firestick software.
I’m having same issue with date and time displayed. Today showing June 28 and 12 hours off. I have no VPN. It just started with incorrect time 2 weeks ago. I have a fire tv. I have 8 other devices and this is only one with this issue. Have tried every trouble shoot possible. Please advise of fix or how I can have device replaced
This happened to me a few days ago. First on one Firestick got backdated 5 days, then the next day another firestick had the same problem. It hosed up my Directv Now TV Guide. So I was all over AT&T about this for days. They finally said check the date on my firestick (I thought OK, but it's supposed to be automatic based on time zone). Guess what - that was the problem and I also have EXPRESS VPN and was enabling it on bootup. Turned that off, fixed the problem. Will be calling EXPRESS VPN. Bless this forum!
I spoke to VPNExpress. They were unaware of the problem (at least the guy I was chatting with). I took him through everything and they have reported it to their tech team but could not give me a timeframe for a fix.
Was having the same problem with the date and time being off. Was not able to change the time/date under in the settings. I ended up doing a factory reset and that got me the correct time/date. I thought the problem was solved. However, a few days later the time/date were wrong again.
After struggling and looking all over the internet and getting no helpful information. I decided to turn off my VPN. That was the solution!! As soon as the VPN was off the time/date was instantly corrected. Once the time/date was correct, I could turn my VPN back on and my apps would then work properly.
