I have a 4k fire tv stick, and I'm getting sound drop outs every few minutes. They are brief, prob a sec or less, but very annoying none the less. They happen regardless of the source.
I've tried all the dirrferent audio settings, but there is no difference. Running Fire OS 126.96.36.199.
I've noticed other threads reporting the same issue, but now soln. This 4k stick replaced a regular fire tv stick, which had no issues. The 4k stick is faster than the regular stick, but this sound issue is basically a show stopper :-(
Same exact issue for me. Just bought the 4K Firestick on Mar 3rd 2019. Audio drops randomly for about a second ever so often, can’t “make” it happen, and it happens with no seeming predictability. Only happens with the Firestick however.
I have 2 4K sticks and 3 earlier ones. I have not had any audio issues. Before I installed my new Onkyo receiver, I had the 4 K stick plugged into an HDMI port on my old Sony TV (no ARC HDMI plug.) I use the optical cable from the TV to my receiver. With a new receiver I only run one HDMI and one optical sound cable from the TV to the receiver and the FireStick, BlueRay, and Direct TV are all plugged into the receiver via their respective HDMI cables. I also utilize an Onkyo 7.1 surround sound speakers and sound works properly with all configurations and worked properly with the old receiver as well.
Same issue here, brand new 4K Fire Stick and sound drops randomly. It’s all very infuriating.

I'm sorry you're having audio issues with your Fire TV Stick 4K.
Have you tried changing your Audio Settings? In your Fire TV menu, select Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio and try each setting.
If that doesn't help - we need a few more details to assist further. Do you have any external speakers or soundbar connected,and if so does this issue persist when you remove them? Is your Fire TV Stick connected directly to your TV, or to an HDMI hub, switch or splitter? Have you tried connecting to a different HDMI port on your TV? Which streaming services are you using when you notice the audio drop-outs? Have you tried rebooting your Internet hardware (modem, router)? Please also share any additional troubleshooting steps you have tried.
