I see this problem also. I live in an area where the TV signal reception is never going to be perfect. I frequently get the weak or no signal message. The message is considerably more of a nuisance than any digital dropout on the TV screen.. A way to disable it is definitely needed.
I have never gotten the message; however, I do get occasional 3 dot buffering issues. The last couple of updates from Amazon have significantly decreased the number of times I encounter buffering issues (only on my furthest from the router FireStick.)
I would also be interested to know how to disable this pop up. I have had the Fire Recast since December and went the first 3 months without the notification. All of the sudden I began receiving this pop up 3 week ago only when watching my local NBC station. My HD antenna is in the exact same location and this only occurs on NBC. I have tried a factory reset of the Fire Stick 4K, factory reset of the Recast, repositioned the antenna and even bought a new antenna. None of these helped to resolve my problem. Love the Recast but this is super annoying!
I’ve had the recast since Nov 2018 and have just recently started getting that gray pop up on several channels indicating weak or no signal. The channels come on fine and when I rescan the recast channel management app says that these channels have a good signal. Apparently there was a firmware update that is causing this message Toto pop up like a blinking beacon. It’s annoying and Amazon needs to fix it and give users the ability to turn off the notification.
I'm having same issues. I've had Recast since November, everything has been perfect. However, the past few weeks, some channels just will not come in at all. On othero, I get the weak signal pop up, and the are coming in just fine. I completely disconnected recast, plugged my antenna directly into my TV & all channels were crystal clear. Back to recast & channels drop off. I'm so frustrated I'm ready to drop it completely.
I had the same issue. Try this as it appears to work for me so far. Go into settings on your firestick, preferences, notification settings and make sure that Do Not Interrupt is set to on. This should effectively block all application notifications. Has worked so far for me.
Hoping to get a turn off pop up option as well. Stations showing up find but randomly getting that pop up. I would try repositioning the antenna but it's set perfectly to receive signal from stations that are not close together but come in fine.
Same issue here, which is how I found this thread. Definitely need this updated. A signal strength meter built into the software is also sorely needed! Hard to aim an antenna when the only feedback you get is "weak or no signal" or "Good".
I have the same issue. Had my recast since first available last year, and only the last month or so having the pro, even though reception is perfect and all channels show signal strength is “good”. Suggestions to Amazon to fix:
1) add a sensitivity setting for this popup (not just on or off)
2) add an antenna aiming aid (signal strength indicator) to make it easier to tell whether you truly have the best signal possible. Make sure this is accessible thru the FireTV app so I can aim the antenna I have in my attic real-time with my phone in my hand.
Same problem here. I'm in Bend OR with clear view of towers about 5 miles away. This message only shows up with the NBC affiliate The quality of the channel is comparable to the others with no such message Come on Amazon! This is the main reason I chose you over Roku. Hard to cut the cord with this annoying issue!
Same here. I am confident the signal is good, with some weather effecting it, but this message has started popping up a lot over the last few weeks. I even was able to shorten the run from my rooftop antenna by about 15-20 feet, thought that would take care of it, but no-I get it less but still do-at random times when there is no issue with the image/sound on the t.v. driving me batty!!!
Hey JLinBend, I also live in Bend, OR and only have this weak signal notification pop up on our local NBC affiliate. Only started about 6 weeks ago and I’ve had the Recast since January. Hoping that Amazon comes up with a fix soon since this appears to be a systemic problem.
For the love of everything, Amazon turn off this stupid notification! The only disturbance in my signal is this pop up every five minutes. If my reception ever starts having issues, then I think I can figure out on my own I need to move my antenna.
