Fire TV stick 4K is stuck in a boot loop and is not responding to the remote. Is there a way to reset it to the factory default without using the remote?
Hi Jerry, thank you for joining the Community :-)
Try restarting your modem/router first, unplugging the power adapter and waiting a full 30 seconds before reconnect. After that, restart your Fire TV as well: unplug the power adapter for three seconds, then plug it back in.
No, the remote is still necessary for a reset. Try to factory reset the Fire TV by pressing and holding the back button and right on the navigation ring for a full 10 seconds. This should prompt you to cancel the reset, to wait for the reset to happen automatically, or choose to go ahead and reset without waiting on the timer.
My firestick First started restarting itself 4 to 5 times back to back then it began to reboot it self it did that about five times and then I just unplugged it what’s going on with the fire sticks all of a sudden. while I’m watching a show on Netflix and just rebooted iitself over and over again
ive tried resetting by unplugging as well as holding the play and middle button down. All I get after Amazon and Fire stick are 3 dots on the bottom right of the tv screen. After a few minutes the screen goes completely blank. The WIFI is working
I'm having the same issue. I just bought it and used it fine for a few hours, but after turning the TV off then coming back, all I get is the firetv logo with three dots, then blank screen, then the Amazon smile then firetv logo again. Cycle doesn't seem to end even if I unplug the stick from the TV and power then reconnect.
A couple of apps (apk) wouldn't launch so I tried to restart the stick from the Settings.
It got stuck so I unplugged/replugged it.
Since then it's been in an infinite loop with the Fire tv logo and the 3 dots in the bottom right corner :(
I tried different HDMI ports, different USB cables, different power sources (from the USB port of the TV, with the original USB cable and power adapter, with a power strip and its 2100mA USB port) to no avail...
And AFAIK there is no way to hard reset/factory reset it without the remote and the interface.
Pressing and holding the back button and right on the navigation ring for a full 10 seconds does nothing while in this loop...
