I've been seeing this issue come up on a lot of forums and so far the only solutions offered have been the typical troubleshooting tips that most customers know by heart. I.e. unplug the device, force stop, clear cache, uninstall/reinstall app, reset the modem, etc. Etc.
If there's no fix, please say so. If we need a newer version of the Firestick because neflix is no longer compatible on older ones, please say so. If u have a fix, great! All ears.
Issue: Netflix opens fine, previews shows fine, etc. Then plays show/movie for about 5-10 seconds and says it's 'having trouble playing the title right now'. Very strong wifi connection and speed test on firestick is at 25 mbps. All other apps and streaming work on Firestick.
Maybe your ISP is throttling your Netflix? Fast.com is SUPPOSED to test Netflix's servers. It always shows the advertised speed from my small ISP. Since the demise of net neutrality, some ISPs have been throttling willy nilly.
The proper operation of a third party App to run on a platform, and keep it updated and working, would be up to the developer of such App.
In this case. Netflix would be responsible for keeping their App updated and working on all platforms of Amazon OS. If Netflix is having issues, it would be up to them to correct it or up to them to abandon older OS if they so choose.
If it was Amazon Videos having issues, it would be up to Amazon to correct it.
This is a peer to peer forum, no one from Amazon in here. You would have to contact the Developer of the App.
This is the exact same problem we have been having. I contacted Netflix and went through all of their troubleshooting steps and they recommended I call Amazon because it must have to do with the current firmware. I contacted Amazon, went through all the troubleshooting steps again, and it still didn't work, at which point they said they would look into the problem and get back to us. It's been more than a month and I haven't heard anything and it's still doing the same thing. Has anyone found a solution??
I have the same problem. I’ve tried rebooting, clearing cache, restart, reinstall, etc. The thing is that Netflix works fine on everything else, including my Roku, so it’s obviously a problem with the Firestick that Amazon refuses to acknowledge.
