I have had my recast for two weeks and am very happy with the ability to record OTA programs. However, something happened tonight that I hope s not an ongoing issue. It lost its connection with firestick. I rebooted recast and unplugged fire stick. The issue was not resolved and the red light on recast stayed lite for maybe an hour before returning to green I then had to pair the devices. During the time it was not working I did lose two programs I had scheduled to record. My interest is, has anyone else experienced the box losing its connection.
I have a similar issue. Recast plays fine on Fire TV but when I go to delete a show it says the Fire TV lost connection to the recast. Both are hard wired with a gigabit LAN. I can still play the recorded shows fast forward pause etc, but the maintenance tasks error and say connection lost. I rebooted the recast and the fire TV but still have the issue.
I had Recast box issues discussed above prior to the 3/4 February firmware update. This update cleared up transmission issues between the Recast box and your router and subsequent broadcast transmission from the WIFI router to the Firesticks. About an hour ago there appeared to be an Amazon server outage that manifested its presence on saying there was an internet issue. I was connected to the internet via other devices so my assumption is that Amazon had a transient server issue that appears to have been resolved by them. Sometimes I do get a message when I try to delete a show. This has occurred when I was watching the items on the Recast box on another television. When I switch televisions and use the Recent display from the home screen the list of available shows on the Recast box is out of sync between my first television and the television used 2nd. This would be another reason to have some communication among multiple Firesticks from the same user on the same account and network.
My Recast and Firestick loose connection with each other several times a day. I've done everything I can think of to troubleshoot and solve problem. Nothing seems to work. It will be fine for about three hours and then disconnect. I have to power down both units several times for them to reconnect. It will be fine for a few hours and then disconnect again. Rinse and repeat.
