I am having issues with me cube buffering constantly and dropping out of sling completely and returning to main cube menu.
I have the cube coming from modem to cube via wire and I have 100MBS service specifically to avoid this buffering.
I have done a speed test on my computer wirelessly and on the cube via an app and both are 25mbs at least.
I would like to know if there is a log I can see to diagnose if it is a Sling issue, Cube issue, or network (which I think it isn't).
I'm so sorry this is happening! I just have a quick clarifying question to help me get more information from you so one of our Forum Pros or regulars or myself can assist you further. Does the cube buffer with any other streaming services? It does sound like a connectivity issue that could be caused by high bandwidth usage. Do you have lots of devices on the WiFi at home? I've checked and there aren't any other reports of this behavior from Sling on the Cube so far (you could always be one of the first!) Thanks in advance for answering so myself or a peer can try and help further!
Also, welcome to the digital and device forums! Usually a peer or fellow customer has an amazing answer on here for any and all kinds of issues, so you're certainly in the right place for advice and guidance!

I wanted to add to this topic as I am having the exact same issue, and It's very disappointing.
I just got my Fire TV Cube, and I am trying to run Sling. I have only tested it for 4 days and have nothing but lag/hour-glassing during channel change, hour-glassing during streaming, and finally the Cube completely locked up. By locked up, I mean, the Cube was unresponsive to any voice commands, remote and the video streaming was frozen. The device took about 10 minutes to reset itself, only to return with the same symptoms. I am now seeing the video not matching with the audio, meaning that the audio is slightly behind on the video feed.
The cube is hardware wired to a Gigabit switch with 300mb/s service. It is connected to a new LG 65SK8000PUA tv. There are no other streaming devices on the network. I have no other streaming device to test sling on.
I called into Amazon tech support, and it got very little help. The representative stated she would write a case to the development team. It's very obvious, that Sling is not a friend application to run on the Fire TV Cube.
FYI...I tried to turn off the "THINGS TO TRY" option in Notifications with the Alexa app so that I would not get the annoying screen pop up with the main menu. This did not work! I let tech support know this as well. No really answer. Very very very buggy device even outside of Sling issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I to am having this issue. All other apps work flawlessly. Sling TV works great most of the time but will either just go black or kick me to the main menu. I cleared the cache and it still did not help.
I am having same issue. Sling TV will go black screen. pressing back button and selecting resume will fix it but it keep happening all the time. Internet speed is fine and Netflix, prime video and other streaming works fine. Sling TV works flawless on my TCL Roku TV although it is on WiFi and my fire TV cube is connected through gigabit ethernet.
