I can't get prime video to work on the fire stick, other apps (Hulu, netflix, etc.) work. Not getting any error message, the video acts like it will play, start to load and go back to the video screen. I have cleared data, cache and other suggestions on help page. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Have you tried restarting your Fire TV Stick to see if the issue persists?
You can use your remote to restart your device. Press and hold the Select and Play/Pause buttons at the same time, for five seconds. Or, select Settings > Device > Restart from the Fire TV menu.
You may also want to check to see if your Fire TV Stick is up-to-date with the most recent software version. You can use the following Help page to locate your exact model and it will provide instructions for checking your current version and updating your device, if needed:
Same problem here. I have tried restarting it and have also checked for updates with none available. No error message, just looks like the video is loading, but then never starts playing. Still looking for a solution.
We've had this problem for almost a week now. Every other app streams fine. Prime will play for a few minutes then freeze and go back to home page. I've restarted the fire stick and it's up to date. Very frustrating.
We have the same issue. I can watch it on my other two fire sticks and Roku without any problem, but my oldest firestick, I am having the same issue. I get to watch a show for about 30 seconds and then it times out and takes me to the shows landing page. I’ve restarted several times and all updates are up-to-date. And this is only happening for Prime Video.
I am having the same issue, all other apps like Netflix and Hulu working fine. I try to watch an Amazon movie and get a blank screen however the movie will play on my fire tablet so its not my internet connection its definitely something wrong with the Fire Stick itself. Amazon get your **** together and fix this problem.
I'm having the same problem with my Fire TV box. Amazon Prime movies stream for two or three minutes, then pause for a second, then it goes back to the menu screen. I can restart the movie and it picks right back up. This happens 100% of the time I stream from Amazon. Netflix, Hulu, Tubi, etc. all stream without any problems.
Does anyone know if there's a fix coming? Some kind of workaround hack?
I am having the same problem. Netflix and Hulu work, but other site with circle. After restarting fire stick I can see some videos but it keeps going back and I have to resume playing. I only get a couple of minutes at a time. I also don't show any updates available and I am not in the version you referenced.
Same here. I just downloaded software update hoping it would fix it but no. Last couple weeks amazon prime content either won’t load at all or will play for a bit then freeze up the system. Then there’s an error message if you try to play the video again and are forced to restart. Please fix this. Hulu and Netflix work fine so it’s not a connection or internet issue. Something is wrong with prime videos.
Customer service just helped me resolve this issue - I had the same problem of Amazon Prime and HBO not working when streaming videos (the videos were hanging and crashing every few minutes). Netflix and Hulu, meanwhile, worked fine. Amazon first helped by de-registering my Fire Stick and then having me unplug the Fire Stick, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in again, and then re-registering my Fire Stick (i.e. signing back into my account again). This only fixed the problem momentarily, though. So, I was then instructed to clear my app data, which worked and solved the problem. These are the instructions I received for doing this: "Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications>Look for Prime video / HBO and then force stop and clear data."
