I have had the same problem for close to a year. I have a Samsung TV and sound bar and the Fire Cube. It is unresponsive to commands, but will beep as if it received the command, but doesn't do anything. When I first noticed it happening I would simply unplug and plug the Cube back up to clear it, but it would repeat after a few hours.
I did contact support. The rep walked me through de-registering and registering. That worked for a few weeks. Then it started back. Recently, I checked for updates, there was one that needed to be installed. I did that and the pulsating light went away, but returned after a day or two.
I have two other tvs a Sony and Toshiba that have Cubes on them, but no sound bars. This doesn't happen on the Sony, but will occasionally on the Toshiba. However, it clears itself with no problem. I wanted to report my issue on the thread so there will be a record of it. Today, June 30, 2019, the Cube on the Samsung TV has been flashing going on two days now. This tv (in LR) is the furthest from the router. The Toshiba is in the same room as the router. The Sony is in BR and is down the hall from the router. I do notice my laptop has an issue with connectivity when I wake it up and it's also in the same room as the Samsung. Don't know if it means anything, just thought to add in case someone has noticed the same with their tech equipment.
I am also getting the same issue. The yellow bar goes back and forth. Good connectivity; playing music, no messages / notifications... it is just strange and annoying. Please help with a solution. Thanks!
Hey all, my new Cube was displaying the scanning yellow light. Even after update, and with full internet connection. But when I went in settings it said I had a notification, but I couldn't find one. So I dismissed it using the option button on bottom right. ( Three vertical stripe button on remote) And the yellow scanning light stopped. Hopefully that's the fix.
Brand new, just set up today, connected to the Ethernet and I can't get the yellow "back and forth" bar to go away. I've even set up a wifi connection, just in case it was unhappy but it's still happening. I have great connectivity and can stream from various services just fine. I have rebooted, reconnected the cable, and everything else that was mentioned but it still is there. Do I have a defective unit?
